NOTD - Essie Mint Candy Apple

Hey ladies! I've been having a bit of an obsession wth Essie nail polishes lately, ever since they became readily available in Boots, you can pretty much guarantee that whenever I'm in there I'll make a visit to the Essie stand and ogle at all the pretty shades! anyone else do the same? Anyway enough of my love for Essie, onto the actual nail polish!

The infamous Essie 'Mint Candy Apple' is my newest edition, it's a shade I've always had my eye on and I really dont know why it took me so long to get it! it's a perfect summery shade, (not that we've really had much of a summer in England) but at least with this on my nails I can feel like I'm living in the Bahamas! ok maybe not.

As the name suggests it's a mint green shade, but with a hint of blue kind of reminds me of a Tiffany's box. It's just lovely! I've been wearing this constantly since I purchased it! Apply two coats of this and your good to go!

If you've tried Essie polishes I would love to know what are some of your favourite shades? So that next time i'm ogling at Essie in Boots I can check them out!

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain - Rendezvous

Hey lovelies! Today I thought I would share with you a lip product I've been loving recently! Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in 'Rendezvous' I'm sure you've heard lots about these balm stains already as they have been talked about all over the place, I was quite late in purchasing one because there wasn't really any colours that caught my attention, but when I was in boots recently I saw the shade 'Rendezvous' if you've read my blog before you'll probably know I love orangy/peachy lip products, so I was immediately drawn to it.

Firstly I love the packaging of these, they are obviously very similar to the Clinique chubby sticks, but cheaper at £7.99 although at the moment they are £5.99 at Boots. They smell of mint when you first apply them which I really like, I also like the way these feel on the lips, they are not at all drying like a typical lip stain, hence the name 'balm stain.' I find them to be very long lasting, pigmented, and natural looking. The shade 'Rendezvous is a nice vibrant orange.

I really can't find anything bad to say about them, If you haven't tried them already go check them out! If you have tried them let me know what you think? Whats your favourite shades?

Unite 7 Seconds Leave In Detangler - Review

I first heard about this product from Fleur from Fleurdeforce, since then I heard more people raving about it! It's basically a leave in conditioner/detangler which mainly focuses on detangling the hair and making it more manageable. My hair is a Pain, it's quite long and gets very tangly quite quickly, which can cause damage and breakage, so I was really intrigued about this product and wanted to see if it would help my hair.

And it did! After I've shampooed and conditioned my hair and it's towel dry I spray around 10-12 sprays of this throughout my hair, the bottle says 4-6 but I tend to use more, then I comb through my hair and that's it! I usually just leave my hair to dry naturally. I have seen definite results with this product. It does just what I was hoping it to do! My hair isn't as tangly as it used to be, brushing my hair is so much easier if there are any tangles they just brush straight out, It leaves my hair feeling/looking smooth and healthy. Plus it smells amazing! Not only that but it also contains a UV and thermal protector so it's a all round multitasking product, it conditions, detangles and protects. I love this product, I haven't gone with out it since purchasing a few weeks ago.

Now it is quite hard to get hold of in the UK, the only place I heard you could get it was in a few salons around London, which is great if you live in London, not so great if your like me and live 3 hours away! But after searching online I found one place that stocked it! You can get it for £14.85 plus delivery at it came in around 2-3 days, along with a couple of samples which is always nice!

Haul - (Zara, Forever 21, Topshop, Miss Selfridge, Boots)

Hey ladies! I Recently went to Birmingham for a couple of days to watch Nicki Minaj perform (which was amazing!) anyway the next day I did a spot of shopping at the Bullring shopping centre and picked up a few things, mostly jewelry and a couple of clothing and beauty bits, so I thought I would show you what I got...

Firstly I don't know why but I picked up quite a few pieces of jewelry, a couple of things from Topshop, a bracelet from Miss Selfridge and lastly a ring from the place I was most looking forward to going, Forever 21! I have never been too one before! I spent a long time in there looking around, but it was a bit overwhelming as the store was so big! I only ended up getting a Rose gold ring but I do love it.

Topshop ring - £8.50

Topshop Bracelets - £16.50

Miss Selfridge Bracelet - £6.50

Forever 21 Rose Gold Ring - £3.15

I then went to Zara and got a black blazer.
I picked it up in white a couple of days before going up to Birmingham and loved it so much I had to get the black too, I've been trying to find a nice blazer for a long time but every one I tried on didn't fit me right, but the Zara one fits lovely and I think it is a pretty good price as they are really nice quality and considering some of the Topshop Blazers I've seen that are similar are £65. I also picked up some black skinny jeans from Zara aswell but didn't take a picture as I didn't think they were that interesting! but I really like the fit and they were only £25.99, Bargain!

Zara Blazer - £49.99

Zara Blazer - £49.99

The last place I went was Boots. I had a No7 £5 off voucher I wanted to use so I got a lip pencil in Nude which was £7.50 so it worked out at £2.50, you cant go wrong! I also picked up the impress press on manicure, I absolutely love the design of them I think they are so colourful and pretty - perfect for summer, I can't wait to try them out.

 No7 lip pencil in Nude - £7.50

impress Press On Manicure - £8.99

So that was everything I got I hope you enjoyed this post!

Head Over Heels - Topshop Cream Blush

Hey ladies, today I thought I would share with you a recent purchase of mine, Topshop cream blush in Head Over Heels, it's actually the first make-up product I've tried from Topshop, I've tried their nail polishes before and I love them! but I've never tried any make-up I don't know why I haven't! I've heard great things about their make-up line especially their blushes, and have always had my eye on 'head over heels' but never got round to picking it up! well up until recently of course!

from left to right: blended out swatch, normal swatch

I really like the packaging, the polka dot print is so cute and it comes with a mirror which is always handy! The actual product itself is a gorgeous peachy/coral shade, if you've read My Top 5 MAC Lipstick post you'll know peachy/coral shades are my favourite lipstick shades, and blushes are no different! It has very fine gold shimmer which I don't find is that noticeable and It's very pigmented, I just dot a couple of dots onto my cheeks and use my Real Techniques stippling brush (also a new purchase) to blend, I love this brush for cream blush, they work great together! The creamy texture of the blush itself is really blendable so its easy to work with. It applies as a cream blush and drys to a more powdery finish I would have preferred it to give a more cream blush dewy finish, but I still like it none the less and find it gives a really natural finish.

I'm defiantly impressed with my first Topshop cream blush, and will be checking out more shades, you can get them for £6 which I think is a really good price.

Have you tried Topshop blushes? What do you think of them?

My Top 5 MAC Lipsticks

Hey lovelies! Today I thought I would share with you my top 5 MAC lipsticks. I love these types of posts and I love MAC lipsticks so to me its a perfect combo! :) haha

I own 11 of them up to now which may or may not be a lot to some people, but I have to say it was quite easy for me to pick my top 5, these are the lipsticks I wear on a day to day basis, and if you cant already tell by the pictures above, I love peachy/pink shades, I mostly always veer more towards the oranges and corals rather than pinks, and I tend to prefer brighter lipsticks, I'm not a fan of the really nude lip like creme d' nude for example, I just don't think it suits me. I do have two nude type shades in my top 5 though that are more wearable for me, Angel and Shy Girl, they are the ones I go for when I don't want a bright lip.

From left to right: Vegas Volt, Costa Chic, Ravishing, Angel, Shy Girl (without flash)

From left to right: Vegas Volt, Costa Chic, Ravishing, Angel, Shy Girl (with flash)

Vegas Volt - is a amplified finish which is one of my favourite finishes as they are very pigmented, Vegas Volt it a bright orange/coral, I'd say its more on the orangey side. Its a great summery shade and looks amazing with a tan.

Costa Chic - frost finish, very bright true coral, again a really summery shade.

Ravishing - Cremesheen finish, my second favourite finish, creamy with a slight sheen as the name suggest, Its a true peach shade.

Angel - frost finish, muted dusty pink.

Shy Girl - cremesheen finish, nude peach shade.

So there you have my top 5 MAC lipsticks, I really do love them all, hope you enjoyed this post.

Whats your favourite MAC lipsticks?

Real Techniques Core Collection

Hey lovelies! So I'm sure most of you have heard of these brushes before, they have been raved about everywhere! Just in case you haven't heard of them though, they were created by Samantha Chapman from 'Pixiwoo' and are made from synthetic bristles. So after seeing all the rave reviews I had to get my hands on them! I got mine in Boots a few weeks ago for £21.99, so have had the chance to use them and now tell you what I think...

Well let me start off by saying I love them! I must admit after seeing all the reviews I expected them to be good but wasn't sure if they would live up to the hype, well I was pleasantly surprised at just how nice they were, my first impressions were 'omg they are SO SOFT!' softer than any of my MAC brushes I own, the two brushes that stand out to me are the Buffing brush and the Contour brush.

                                          (above:contour brush, below:buffing brush)

The Buffing brush I use for my foundation everyday now, my MAC 187 no longer has a look in! lol, I love the way it applies my foundation, its so quick, you can really buff it in and it gives a beautiful even finish. The contour brush I also use everyday to apply cream highlight and on the days where I use my Chanel Bronze Universal to contour.

(above:detailer brush, below:pointed foundation brush)

The other two brushes (pointed foundation brush and detailer brush) have been neglected, they aren't my favourite, I simply don't find as much use for them. The pointed foundation brush is too small to apply my foundation with in my opinion, I have used it for concealer under my eyes though. The detailer brush I have also used for concealer, but again I don't tend to reach for it as I prefer a fluffier blending brush for concealer like the MAC 217.

Overall I love theses brushes and really recommend them, let me just say again they are SO soft! The quality is amazing, I haven't had one hair shed from any brush, they wash really well and retain their shape. They are great value for money at £21.99 I would purchase the buffing brush and the contour brush alone for that price, they are definitely the stand out brushes for me and the other two are nice bonuses. You can purchase these at Boots, they have other sets as well as individual brushes. I'm definitely going to purchase some more, I already have my eye on the blush brush and powder brush.

Thanks for reading!

Soleil Tan De Chanel - Bronzing Make-Up Base

This has been on my wishlist for such a long time now, so when I was in Debenhams a few days ago I finally caved, it has got a hefty price tag at £29 but you do get 30g of product, and from using this a few times already I can see this will last a long time...

The packaging is gorgeous, but who would expect anything less from Chanel! It comes in a huge plastic tub with the gold Chanel logo on the lid, it also has a plastic insert inside to prevent the product from drying out. The texture is a very firm mousse/cream I was expecting it to be more soft in texture. It does have fine shimmer its not overly shimmery by any means but its not matte either, this did come a slight disappointment to me as I do like my bronzers matte. Ive seen many people say that the shimmer doesn't show on the skin which it doesn't show a great deal, although if your out in the sun with this on your face you can definitely see the shimmer alot more than I would necessary like, but that's just me not being a fan of shimmery bronzers some people I'm sure will love it!

There are different ways to use this, you can wear this under your foundation as a base to give a subtle bronzed look, or all over your face on its own, or (my preferred way) as a bronzer on top of your foundation to contour. I apply this under my cheek bones, temples and jaw line, I wouldn't suggest applying this with your fingers as I don't think it would work as well, I've been using the MAC 109 brush and the Real Techniques buffing brush, they both work well I find the Real Techniques brush buffs it in more...It applies beautifully, looks natural and gives a smooth velvety finish.

Left - Heavy swatch, Right - Bended out

The colour is a warm brown it does have a tiny orange tone to it, but I don't find it appears orangey on the skin, the swatch above is coming across more orangey than it actually is, it comes in one shade which I think will work on most skin tones, except maybe very dark skin.

My verdict... I really like this product, I'm not a huge fan of the shimmer, but it doesn't put me off either. I love the way this applies and looks on the skin. I'm definitely glad I purchased it and can see myself getting a lot of use out of this in the summer.

Thanks for reading! have you tried this product yet? what are your thoughts?

Whats in my January Glossybox? "Valentines Edition"

As you can see this months box was a gorgeous hot pink colour, for the theme valentines day, I love how Glossybox has been changing their colour schemes for different themes. Now onto whats inside the box...

Davines Moisturising Balm - I've never heard of this brand before but its a moisturising balm for face, hair and body, with 98% natural derived ingredients and organic cartheme oil. After reading about it I realised that you are actually meant to rinse this off, when used on the face it works more like a cleanser and removes make-up, and on the hair it works as a conditioner that you leave on for a few minutes then rinse out. The smell of this isn't great, smells herbal to me, but it isn't so bad that it would put me off using this, I'm quite interested to see how this works on my hair.

Davines Cleansing Nectar - Another product from this brand, this can be used on hair and body, it works as a shampoo/shower gel. Again herbal scented, but not as strong smelling as the moisturising balm. This also has 98% natural derived ingredients and organic cartheme oil. I'm really interested to see how this works on my hair as well as it is sulphate free and silicone free.

FAB Gentle Body Wash - This brand was actually in my last months Glossybox as well. Its a gentle body wash aimed at dry/sensitive skins and free of irritants. Its not very strong smelling, but that may be a good thing because I'm not to keen on the smell anyway. I don't no what it is but I'm never excited about receiving body washes in beauty boxes, I find its something I always have and don't really have a need to try more.

Eyeko Skinny Eyeliner - When I first saw what colour this was in (powdered pink) I was a little disappointed, as I was expecting it to be a pink eyeliner, which it is but its a very muted pale pink, which works well for lining the inner lash line, the texture is creamy, not super pigmented, I tried it to see how it performed, its not very long lasting I found it didn't last long on my inner lash line.

Murad Skin Perfecting Primer - dewy finish - I was the most excited about trying this product, as I've been wanting a primer that gives a dewy finish as alot that I've tried are more for mattifying the face. I haven't tried this out properly yet I just tested it on my hand and was actually surprised its a tinted primer which I haven't seen before. It felt different to other primers I've tried it was more watery and didn't leave my skin with that really soft feel that other primers have, I also noticed that it had very very fine shimmer in it which is obviously to give that dewy effect, but I was disappointed as it annoys me when I look close and see little bits of shimmer on my face, but I am still looking forward to trying this out properly and seeing how it makes my make-up look.

Thanks for reading!

New Perfume Love - YSL Parisienne

I got this perfume for Christmas, and have been wearing it pretty much ever since, I absolutely love it! It has a gorgeous floral feminine scent, but doesn't smell like the typical floral perfumes I'm used too, it has more of a heavier woody scent mixed with it. Its fast become a favourite of mine, and is one I can wear day or night.

Now I'm not a perfume expert so will not attempt to describe this scent in detail, it is just simple gorgeous and I recommend if you have not tried this next time your in boots or wherever just give it a sniff, and I'm sure you will love it!

here's what they say
"A generous floral fragrance with a woody structure,
luminous even in its mystery.
The perfume of ultra femininity warmed
by the touch of the man who has lightly caressed her."

Head Notes: Cranberry, Blackberry
Heart Notes: Damask Rose, Violet Leaves
Base Notes: Vetiver, Sandalwood, Musk
