New York Beauty Haul Part 2 (MAC Haul)

Hey Ladies! In my last post I showed you most of the beauty bits I picked up in NYC, which you can see here if you haven't already. I didn't include the bits I picked up from MAC though as I thought the post would have been a bit too long, so that's what I'm going to do today!
left to right: Diva, Morange

Diva Lipstick - is a deep dark vampy red and it a matte finish.

Morange Lipstick - is a bright orange shade, I love orange/peach lipstick so this one is right up my street! It is a amplified finish so it is very pigmented.

left to right: Style, Sunbasque, Warm Soul
left to right: Warm Soul, Style, Sunbasque

Warm soul mineralise blush - is a bronze peachy blush with gold shimmer, gives cheeks that beautiful glowy look.

Style blush - is a beautiful peachy coral with gold shimmer, the shimmer in this blush gives it a gorgeous gold/peach sheen.

Sunbasque blush - is a warm bronze peach/pink blush with gold shimmer running through it, it is a sheertone shimmer blush but I don't find the shimmer overpowering, it is a gorgeous blush and kind of acts a blush bronzer and highlighter all in one.

Mineralize Skinfinish Natural in Medium Deep - this is a repurchase of mine, it is a really nice powder which I use to set my foundation it is nice because it doesn't give me that really matte powdery look some powders can give.

left to right: Bare Study, Construtivist

Bare Study paint pot - is a cream with gold shimmer, it's beautiful on it's own or works great as a base underneath eyeshadows to make shadows a bit more intense and last longer on the lids.

Constructivist paint pot - is a warm dark brown with slight shimmer which gives it a sheen, again looks gorgeous on it's own or as a base.

left to right: Swiss Chocolate, Ricepaper, Woodwinked, Espresso, Mulch, Embark, Retrospeck, Naked Lunch, Patina.

Swiss Chocolate - medium warm matte brown with red undertone.

Ricepaper - light creamy yellow champagne, with gold shimmer, frost finish.

Woodwinked - warm gold shade, veluxe pearl finish.

Espresso - Medium matte brown.

Mulch - bronzey red toned brown with shimmer, velvet finish.

Embark - rich dark brown shade, matte finish.

Retrospeck - pale gold with shimmer, lustre finish.

Naked Lunch - pale peachy/pink, frost finish.

Patina - Taupe brown, fine shimmer, frost finish.
Teddy eye kohl - is a brown liner with a hint of gold shimmer, I have been using this in the waterline or along the lashline.

In Synch lip pencil - pale pink/peach lip liner.

So that is everything I got from MAC, I hope you enjoyed this post! Let me know if you have tried any of these products? What are your thoughts? Also let me know what you favourite MAC products are so I can check them out!

Huge New York Beauty Haul! (Drugstore, Sephora, Victoria Secret, Bath and Body Works)

Hi Ladies! I went to New York before Christmas, I've been wanting to do this post for a while but just haven't got round to it, so it is a little late but I thought I would share with you the beauty bits I picked up when I was there! It was my first time visiting New York, I went for a week and it was amazing! So Christmassy and of course the shopping is amazing! There is quite a few things to go through so I wont do a big review on every product but they will be featured more later on my blog, do let me know if there is any particular products you would like to see.

Drugstore (Duane Reade,CVS)
Covergirl Lashblast Clump Crusher Mascara - this is Covergirl's newest mascara I believe, I had heard great things about the original Covergirl mascara, so when I saw this one I thought I'd give it a try. The name clump crusher was mainly why I picked it up as I'm not a fan of clumpy lashes. It does a good job of giving volume without looking clumpy and lengthens my lashes ok, overall I like this mascara but it didn't wow me or anything!

L'oreal Felt Tip Liner 'Carbon Black' - I needed a liquid liner so I picked this up. It's a nice liner, the tip is fine so you can get a precise line and it is intense black which I like, also lasts all day and it hasn't dried up yet! So far so good.

Cutex Regular Nail Polish Remover - I needed some nail polish remover so picked this one up, it's like the Bourjois one everyone was talking about at one point. Not much to say about it but I like how quick and easy it is to remove nail polish using this!

Its a 10 Miracle Leave In Product - I've used this a few times now, you spray it into damp hair after washing, it isn't a liquid it sprays out more like a conditioner. It claims to repair dry/damaged hair, adds shine, detangles, controls frizz, seals & protects hair colour, prevents split ends, stops hair breakage, creates silkiness, enhances natural body, flat iron spray & thermal protector. I cant say that it does all of those things but I have noticed it helps to detangle my hair, adds shine, makes my hair silky and soft and it smells nice too.

Milani Baked Blush - 'Luminoso', Wet'n'Wild Blush -'Mellow Wine'

Milani Baked Blush 'Luminoso' - I really wanted to try a Milani blush after hearing great things, I picked up the shade Luminous, which is a peachy shade with gold shimmer. I was very impressed with the quality it blends lovely, it isn't as pigmented as the Wet'n'Wild blush but still has good amount of pigment to it. I love the shade and how it looks on, it is a gorgeous blush I wish I got more shades!

Wet 'n' Wild Blush 'Mellow Wine' - we don't have Wet'n'Wild in the UK, so I really wanted to try something from the brand after hearing good things mainly about their blushes and eyeshadows. I picked up this blush in 'Mellow Wine' It is a warm pinky rose colour, not something I usually go for but it look really pretty on! I was so impressed with how pigmented this blush was! The texture is soft and silky and blends really well. I think they are around $3 so great value for money.

Wet 'n' Wild eyeshadow palette 'Comfort Zone' - this palette was another product I had heard good things about, so I really wanted to try it! I've have worn the four neutral shades on the left, the neutrals shades were the reason I bought this palette. lLke the blush the eyeshadows are really pigmented, blend well and wore well throughout the day, again I am really impressed!

Maybelline baby lips 'cherry me' - the Maybelline baby lips have been hyped up quite a lot, you can't get them in the UK so when I was in New York I had to try one! 'Cherry me' is a pinky cherry colour and smells like cherry too. It's hardly pigmented just gives a very subtle pink tint on the lips, which is ok as I wasn't expecting it to be that pigmented as I had read reviews I still wanted to try it though. It feels nice on the lips, moisturises ok, I don't get the hype though to me it just a averagely nice lip balm.

EOS Lip Balm 'Strawberry Sorbet' & 'Summer Fruit' - another famously hyped up product. I have to admit the packaging is what draw me to this product but I think that's the case for many, its just so cute! I've been using Strawberry Sorbet which of course smells like strawberry's, the balm itself is ok it does a decent job at moisturising the lips. I have quite dry lips so need something a bit more moisturising but I still like it and have been using it as well as my other lip balms, its so easy to quickly apply as well.

Left to Right: Essie 'Penny Talk', Essie 'Lapiz of Luxery', O.P.I 'Keeping up with Santa', O.P.I 'Sweet Heart', O.P.I 'Dulce De Leche', Revlon 'Moon Dust'

Essie Nail Polish ' Penny Talk' - is a beautiful rose gold metallic shade, I saw it and had to get it! On the nails though the shade didn't look as nice as I thought it would, I'm still undecided on this shade. I took a picture of me wearing it on Instagram @ Vanessalouisee which you can check out if you like! Essie polishes aren't the most long lasting but this one lasted longer on my nails than most of the others I've tried.

Essie 'Lapiz of Luxery' - I haven't tried this on yet but it is a gorgeous blue shade, I think it will look lovely for summer time.

O.P.I 'Keeping Up With Santa' - it was Christmas time when I went to New York so I wanted a nice Christmas polish, I looked everywhere for this and every drug store I went to didn't have it in stock, But eventually I managed to get my hands on it, it is a gorgeous red shade with subtle shimmer, the shimmer is so fine it gives it more of a nice sheen look!

O.P.I 'Sweet Heart' - is a light milky pink, it is a pretty shade you need 2-3 coats for it to be opaque.

O.P.I 'Dulce De Leche' - is one of O.P.I's more famous shade, Lauren Conrad was supposed to of said it was one of her favourite polishes. It is a mauve pinky beige nude, I have worn this and I'm not a big fan I didn't find it very flattering on so i was disappointed with this, I'm sure it looks great on a lot of people but for me it didn't work.

Revlon Nail Art Moon Candy 'Moon Dust' - I mainly got this for the glitter polish which has holograpic glitter flakes in a clear base. I have wore both the shades, the black base with the glitter on top and I wasn't too keen on it, the glitter is more of a green/gold which I couldn't really tell by looking at the tube, I would of also liked for more there to be more glitter flakes as I had to keep applying to get enough glitter flakes on the nail. I like the idea of these nail polish duos I would of preferred a different shade though!

Physicians Formula Gel Creamliner 'Brown Eyes' - as you can see you get three gel creamliners, a brown shade, purple and a black with very subtle purple shimmer. They come in shades to enhance your eye colour so I got the one for brown eyes, I haven't tried these out properly yet, So I can't say to much about them I've swatched them though and they are very pigmented, it says 24 hour wear on the box so it will be interesting to see if they last all day!

 Sephora
Miss Dior Perfume - my boyfriend got me this as a Christmas present while we were in Sephora, I'm no good with describing scents but it smells amazing, I love it!
Josie Maran 100% Pure Argan Oil - this was around the tills at Sephora where they have all the mini products you can purchase. Its a small 15ml bottle but I can see it lasting a long time as you only need the tiniest amount! The only ingredient is 100% organic argan oil. You can use it as a daily moisturiser, to treat split ends, to condition cuticles, as a body moisturiser, to soothe rough patches or as a bath oil. I've been using this at night after I've cleansed my face, in the morning the oil has completely sunk in and leaves my skin feeling really hydrated and moisturised.

Sephora Sharpener - Not a very exciting purchase but I needed a one!

I got some little samples as well. The Clinique high impact mascara which I haven't tried yet but I'm excited to see what it's like. Kate Somerville Daily Deflevtor Moisturiser SPF 20, again haven't tried this but I've heard good things about Kate Somerville and lastly Lancome Genifique Youth Activating Concentrate, I have only used this once so I can't say I noticed anything much, it is anti-ageing which I don't really need at my age but it did feel nice on the skin. It felt nice on the skin though.

YSL Rouge Volupte Lipstick 'Sensual silk' - YSL lipsticks are so silky and creamy, have a lovely scent and come on look at that packaging! Sensual silk is a gorgeous peachy dusty pink nude shade and I absolutely love it!

Fresh Fragrance RollerballTrio - comes with three perfumes, 'Brown Sugar', 'Sugar Lemon' and 'Hesperides Grapefruit'. My favourite is Sugar Lemon then Brown Sugar, Hesperides Grapefruit is quite nice but it's my least favourite out of all of them. I wouldn't of thought that I would like sugar lemon because I'm not a fan of lemon scents but this is just lovely, I can't describe it but all of these scents are unique smelling, I really recommend trying them if you can.

Fresh Sugar Berry Merriment Set - I bought this as I wanted to try the Fresh Sugar lip treatment and the set worked out better value. It comes with a soy face cleanser which I haven't tried yet. The sugar lip polish which is lovely! Works great at exfoliating and conditioning the lips. The Sugar Lip Treatment in 'berry' which feels lovely on the lips and really is really moisturising, smells of sweet brown sugar like the lip polish and lastly a mascara which I haven't tried yet.

Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush 'Tipsy' - I wanted this blush for a long time! It's a coral-pink/peach blush with a slight shimmer, beautiful silky texture, very pigmented and lasts all day! I love this blush! I wish we had Tarte over here because I would defiantly picked up some more shades.

I picked up the Cashmere glow body lotion and fragrance mist, I love the smell of it! And the Pink Chiffon Shower gel which also smells amazing! I love Bath and Body works.

I went a little bit hand sanitiser crazy! I don't think I'll any more hand sanitiser for a while! They smell so nice though!

I love Bath and Body works candles, I would of got sooo many of them if I could bring them all back! I picked up these four, all winter scents. Frosted Cranberry and 'Tis The Season are Christmas scents, Christmas is obviously over I didn't get round to using these as I was using up my other Christmas candles so I might save these for next year or just use them anyway! Frosted Cranberry is my favourite It smells amazing!! I have been burning 'Winter' which is my least favourite so I thought I would use that one first it has a pine scent which I'm not keen on. 'Marshmellow Fireside' is my other favourite I love the smell of this! Amazing!

Next I thought I would show you a couple things I picked up from Victoria Secret, I did pick up some other bits like underwear but I didn't think I would include that! haha. Anyway I picked up the Victoria Secret Pink Scent 'Wild and Breezy' I absolutely love the smell of this! And a huge water bottle to help make me drink more water!

This isn't really beauty related but I thought I would include it anyway as I love it so much! I have wanted a Michael Kors watch for a ages now so I'm so happy I finally got round to getting one!

I was going to Include the make-up I got from MAC as well but this post would be too long if I included that as well so I will do a part two MAC haul next!

Thanks so much for reading!  I Would love for you to let me know if there is any products you would like to see a more detailed review of on my blog!

DIY Coconut Oil Hair Treatment

Coconut oil has many uses and benefits. It can be used to cook with/eat, to moisturise the skin and as a hair treatment which is what I am going to talk about today.
I purchased this big tub from Holland and Barret a few months ago for £16.55 and I can tell it's going to last a long time! I've been using it as a hair mask/treatment, all I do is place a couple of spoonfuls into a bowl. Coconut oil is solid at room temperature, so I then heat it up by placing the bowl on top of a saucepan of water on the stove. The heat turns the texture into a oil, the heat also helps the oil to penetrate the hair better! Then I just apply it to dry hair, I section my hair off so its easier to apply. Once the coconut oil is applied all over the hair, tie it up using a hair band or a clip then wrap your hair in clingfilm or a shower cap, you can then apply heat from a hair dryer which will open the cuticle so the oil can absorb faster! Leave the oil on for at least 20-30 minutes, sometimes I leave it on longer, (the longer you leave it on the better!) After that I shampoo and condition my hair as normal, make sure to wash thoroughly to remove all the oil.

I really do notice a real difference when I use this! I have dry/damaged hair
as I get it bleached/heat styling etc...After I use this my hair feels sooo soft and looks a lot more shiny! It has also helped the overall condition and health of my hair! It's a lot more healthier and doesn't break as much! I tend to use this once a week, you can use it more or less depending on your hair.

Fake Bake Flawless Self-Tan Liquid

Hey Ladies! Today I thought I would share with you a recent fake tan discovery which I have been absolutely loving! I have tried many others including St Tropez, St Moritz, Rimmel, Xen tan...etc. Xen tan was my favourite, well it still is but now it shares its top spot with Fake Bake Flawless!

You can pick 'Fake Bake Flawless self-tan liquid' up from Feelunique for £18. It comes with a tanning mitt and a glove, which it says for you to put the glove on underneath the mitt. I just used the mitt on its own and it was fine, no tan seeped through onto my hand. You then spray the tanning liquid onto the mitt and apply it that way. First of all this is one of the easiest tans I've ever applied! I find you have to really work with most tans and be careful when applying. This one is just so easy it glides on beautifully, no patches! and sinks straight into the skin! I hate it when you apply a tan and you feel sticky for ages afterwards! It actually puts me off applying it, as I usually like to apply tan before bed but hate going to bed feeling sticky! This one doesn't do that! Which is great! Another thing that puts me off fake tan, is the awful fake tan smell! This is another thing I love about Fake Bake Flawless! It doesn't have that awful fake tan smell! Most tans are really strong smelling, this one has the mildest smell out of all the tans I've tried, It doesn't smell of that 'biscuit smell' at all, if anything it smells like sunscreen!

As you can see from the picture above it sprays out pretty dark. It's one of those tans with an instant guide colour so you can see where you have applied it, you should then leave it on for at least 8 hours. I leave it on overnight then wash off! It leaves you with a beautiful golden bronze tan, not orangy at all, just really natural looking and olive toned!

The instant guide colour is great if you are off out and need a tan fast. This is one I could easily apply and go straight out as it doesn't go on patchy, it doesn't have that strong fake tan smell, and I haven't experienced any tan transferring onto clothes or bed sheets!

Before and after - Top - with tan, Bottom - without

The picture shows a before and after, obviously the top arm I have applied the tan and the bottom has no tan to show the difference! This is just one application so you can definitely build up to make it even darker! The wear of  this tan is also really good, I applied it a couple of times before I went on holiday for a week and at the end of the week it had mostly worn off but I still had a subtle hint of tan after 7 days! It wore off evenly too without going patchy!

I think you can tell I love this tan right?! Thinking about it and writing all this down has actually made me realise it cant share it's top spot with Xen tan, it is definitely my favourite! and has knocked Xen tan off the top spot! lol. I hope you enjoyed this post! Make sure to let me know if you have tried this tan? I would love to know your thoughts! Also I would love to know what your favourite fake tans are?

Emma Hardie Amazing Face Moringa Cleansing Balm

Hey guys! Today I thought I would review/rave about a skincare product I've been loving! The 'Emma Hardie amazing face, Natural lift and sculpt Moringa cleansing balm' (award for the longest product name ever!) I am now onto my second tub of this! As soon as I ran out I immediately placed a order on Feelunique.com, which is one of the cheapest places I found for this product. It's usually around £34 but you can pick it up for £27.50 on feelunique, also you can get even cheaper if there is a feelunique code floating around.

I use this morning and night, scoop a small amount into the palm of my hand and add a tiny bit of warm water which turns the texture a little more creamy. Then massage all over my face and neck, it feels lovely on the skin! I then take either a hot muslin cloth or a normal hot face cloth to remove it. It does a great job at removing make-up including eye make-up. I usually double cleanse at night, once to remove my make up then again to really cleanse the skin. It can also be left on and used as a soothing and softening mask, personally I've only used it for cleansing but it's so hydrating I think it would work beautifully as a mask as well.

It feels so luxurious on the skin and leaves my face feeling clean, smooth and hydrated, doesn't leave any oily residue and never irritates my skin or eyes! I have dry/dehydrated skin and this product helps to really clean my skin never leaving my face feeling tight or sore. It's especially great in the winter months, when the cold weather can make skin dryer than normal. I think this would suit all skin types, obviously if you have dry/dehydrated skin like me you should love it! It's very gentle and non irritating so should be great for sensitive skin, and it's not to rich for oily skin.

So I think you can already tell this product gets a big thumbs up from me! I really do think it's great and can see myself repurchasing and repurchasing this cleanser! Have you tried it? What are your thoughts?
