REN Resurfacing AHA Concentrate Review

Ren Resurfacing Aha ConcentrateRen Resurfacing Aha Concentrate
I have been using the REN Resurfacing AHA Concentrate for a few weeks now, I purchased this as my skincare routine was missing a exfoliating step and I felt like my skin could do with something to revitalise it and give me a brighter complexion. I looked at lots of products that do similar things but I decided on this REN AHA Concentrate.
So first of all to anyone who is unsure of what AHAs are....
AHA stands for Alpha Hydroxy Acids, AHAs are found in fruit or milk and they work to exfoliate your skin,  (I much prefer this method of exfoliating as I have never liked manual exfoliating scrubs which contains little grains as I feel they can be quite harsh on the skin, and can sometimes cause actually damage and create tiny tears on the skins surface layer) AHAs also help with fine lines and wrinkles and uneven skin tone like darken spots such as sun spots. Ahas make your skin more sensitive to the sun, so make sure you are extra careful and protect your skin with SPF.
So moving on to the REN Resurfacing AHA Concentrate, It is described as... 'A concentrate formulated to resurface the skin and renew the complexion giving a radiant, youthful glow. A complex of Glycolic, Lactic, Tartaric and Citric acids promotes skin-cell turnover leaving skin looking revitalised, brighter, smoother and more healthy'
'Results: Gently exfoliates so skin appears radiant, even toned and smoothed. Reduces the appearance of pore size and fine lines. Improves moisture retention and the efficacy of your skincare routine'
As I said I have been using this for a few weeks now, it comes with a pipette applicator and has a fruity scent. On first application I felt a slight tingling sensation but nothing much at all and it only lasted a few seconds. Ren suggest using it in weekly cycles, so one week on and one week off. I haven't been doing that instead I've been using it a few days a week then having a break. After my first use, I woke up in the morning to very soft skin, and my skin was also brighter and more radiant, even my boyfriend commented on it. Ren say to follow with a night serum but Ive been using it on its own after I've cleansed my skin.
Overall I really like this product, it makes my skin so much softer and gives me a bright almost glowing complexion. The only thing I'm not super keen on is how REN suggest using it, every day for a week then have a week off, I would much prefer a product that you can just use once or twice a week, of course you can do that with the REN but I feel as though it works better if used consistently for a time period. But I would definitely recommend this if you are looking for something to exfoliate your skin and give a smoother brighter complexion.
Let me Know if you have tried this product, what did you think?

Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage Concealer | Review

Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage Concealer

Hey guys! Today I wanted to share with you a recent purchase of mine, the Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage Concealer - I recently picked this up from SpaceNK and have been using it for about a week now. It comes with two concealers which you can mix and customise to get your perfect shade. I really love that you get two shades as I know this will match me all year round as I can mix more of the darker/lighter shades depending on how tanned/pale I am. I have the shade SC-4 which I would say is best for medium skin tones.
What Laura Mercier say 'Conceal discolourations, imperfections and redness with Laura's Iconic concealer. Oil free and long wearing, this unique two-toned camouflage allows you to customise the colour to meet your needs. Suitable for all skin types, even sensitive'
Before purchasing I had heard that this concealer duo was best for imperfections on the face rather than the eye area, which I agree with but I have been trying this out on my under eye area as well. The texture is quite dry and although it is dry I don't find it drys out my skin or looks dry on my face even on the under eye area. As the texture is quite hard it is best to warm up the product with your finger first. You can swirl you finger in the product or use a brush which ever you prefer and mix it on the back of your hand to get your perfect shade if you need to, then as you warm up the product is becomes a little bit more creamier and easier to apply but it is definitely not a creamy concealer by any means. As I said I have been using this on my  eye area as well as blemishes and I like it for both areas. I have dark circles and although they aren't terrible dark I would always find that no matter what concealer I was using my undereye circles would always shine through a little. However this Laura Mercier concealer conceals my under eye darkness as well as any blemishes perfectly, it is great and the best concealer I have tried when it comes to coverage. I would say the coverage is full coverage and you only need to use a little product as it is very pigmented which is another plus. I've been setting it with a little powder and it lasts all day. As for creasing, I have experienced a little under the eyes, but nothing too much.
Overall I really like this concealer, I love the fact that you get two shades as it means you don't have to go out and buy a lighter/darker concealer when your skin tone changes. I also love the coverage and how pigmented it is. I would really recommend this if your looking for a full coverage concealer as it does a amazing job at concealing, I like to use it on blemishes as well as my under eye area, but I can see why some people wouldn't like to use this concealer on their eye area as the texture is dry so it's not the easiest to blend. You can purchase Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage Concealer from SpaceNK for £26.

Nars 'Gina' Blush // Review & Swatches

Nars Gina Blush
Nars gina blush review
Nars Gina Blush
Nars gina blush
Nars gina blush

I have had my eye on Nars 'Gina' Blush for a while - it is described as a true tangerine, I would say it is a soft matte orange shade with a sheen finish. The shade is really gorgeous, I purchased Nars Luster not long ago (Review here) and although I really like Luster I have to say I much prefer Gina. Gina is more orange and vibrant on the cheeks. I like that it's matte as I can add highlight if I want too and as it has a sheen finish it doesn't look flat on the cheeks. Gina is nicely pigmented - you can just tap your brush into the product to get a touch of colour and warm up the face or build it up to give a more vibrant finish. The texture is soft without being powdery, I find it applies and blends easily and lasts all day on my skin.
Overall I really love this shade and I'd really recommend it and Nars blushes in general as I think they are great! I think this would suit most skin tone from pale to medium to dark, as it can be applied more subtle on pale skins or built up on darker skin tones. Let me know what you think of this blush? Also if you have any other shade recommendations for Nars Blushes, I'd love to know!

Kevyn Aucoin Celestial Powder | Candlelight

Kevyn Aucoin Celestial Powder Candlelight Review
Kevyn Aucoin Celestial Powder Swatch
Hi Lovelies I recently had a bit of a splurge in SpaceNK, I picked up a few things I had been lusting over for a while! One of which was the Kevyn Aucoin Celestial Powder in Candlelight. I've never tried anything from Kevyn Aucoin before but its been a brand I've wanted to try for a while now and as I am a big lover of highlighter and that 'dewy look' The Celestial Powder was right up my street! It's been on my wishlist for a while now, it's not cheap at £34 and I didn't need another highlighter but after watching Corrie's recent Youtube Video - (DizzyBrunette) where she hauled both the Celestial Powder and the Sculpting Powder from Kevyn Aucoin, I finally caved and purchased it myself...
First of all lets talk packaging, I really like it! It's a bit different than your standard black, instead it's  more of a sophisticated deep red colour and it comes with a big mirror which is always handy! I don't like the brush it comes with though, the bristles are quite rough and I don't think it's the best brush to apply this product. I have been applying it with my Real Techniques contour brush which is great for applying highlighter, on the photo above I applied it to the tops of my cheekbones.
I have tried quite a few highlighters, but this one is quite different compared to any others in my collection, the main difference is the subtle glow this highlighter gives! It does have glitter in it but it's very fine and doesn't look glittery on the skin. It gives the most beautiful subtle soft glow, more of a my skin is naturally glowy rather than I've just applied glitter on my cheeks. It really is stunning I think this would be especially great for the summer months when the sun is out and you still want to look glowy but not see a really harsh glittery highlight when the sun hits your face. The shade is described as having a pale apricot hue but I would say its more of a pale golden shade and the texture is buttery soft.
Overall I am really impressed with this highlighter! It manages to be subtle and natural but still gives a noticeable beautiful glow. It does have a high price tag but I think it's worth it as I haven't tried any other highlighter which manages to do what this one does! If you are after that glowy look celebs have on the red carpet that looks like there skin is just naturally that glow, then this highlighter is for you!
I'd love to know if you have tried this and what you thoughts are?

Beauty Wishlist #1

Hi Lovelies! I hope you are all well! Today I thought I would do a little Beauty Wishlist, I'm a big beauty addict so I'm constantly lusting after products, and always have some sort of wishlist going on! And I've picked a few things that I'm currently lusting after to share with you all today...
1. Lime Crime Lipstick - I've never tried any Lime Crime Lipsticks but I've heard good things about them, they seem super pigmented and come in lots of unusual shades like green and blue! But the one of got my eye on is 'Cosompop' which is a really nice orange shade!
2. Mac Prep + Prime Highlighter 'Light Boost' - This seems to be sold out every time I go on the MAC site. Light Boost is yellow toned, and can be used over or under make-up to brighten and prime. I intend on using this under my eyes and on any other areas I want to highlight, like cheekbones, forehead, cupids bow and the bridge of the nose.
3. Bobbi Brown Hydrating eye cream - I've been lusting after this for a while, I like to keep my eye area moisturised so this is perfect, it's a hydrating eye cream that is supposed to work well under concealer,  it contains Aloe Vera and Witch Hazel to soothe and comfort, and Jojoba seed, Avocado Oil and Squalane to condition and revive the eye area.
4. Giorgio Armarni Luminous Silk Foundation - Another product I've been lusting after for a while, it's described as an oil-free hydrating fluid, with a lightweight and silky texture that glides on for a seamlessly all-day, buildable coverage. I've heard great things about this foundation!
5. Benefit Fake Up Concealer - This has been raved about a lot on the bloggersphere lately. I think it's designed more for the undereye area as it has a hydrating ring wrapped around a 'concealer core' and it's also meant to help control creasing.
I'd love to know what products your currently lusting over? Or if you've tried any of these products, what do you think of them?

Essie | Cute As A Button

essie cute as a button
Hey Lovelies! I hope you are having a fab weekend! So guess what? I went to Boots, again! As the 3 for 2 offer is running at the moment I had to take advantage. If you follow me on instagram you may have already seen me post a photo of what I bought, this post isn't a mini boots haul but I'll tell you what I picked up anyway...First of all I purchased a Real Techniques Setting Brush, (I have mentioned how much I love real techniques brushes before, see my collection here) Secondly I have been after a 'drugstore' foundation, I tend to stick to more high end bases but I wanted to try a drugstore option, after swatching many I settled on Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum (which I tried for the first time today and I'm really liking it!) And lastly I picked up a Essie Nail Polish in Cute As A Button which is what I am going to be talking about today.

I picked this shade up on a whim, I already had my two products and could get a free one so I decided I would get this nail polish. I wasn't expecting to like it as much as I do but I think it's absolutely gorgeous, perfect summery nail colour - I write this whilst viewing a grey sky and rain pouring down my window...however if we do finally get some sunshine I think this will be a perfect nail polish to accompany it! I can see myself getting a lot of wear out of this, It's a gorgeous pinky coral, I'm not a huge fan of pink on me as I don't feel like it suits my skin tone that well but as this is a coral pink with a orange undertone, I really love it! Its quite bright it doesn't look like it's going to be that bright in the bottle but on the nails it's almost slightly neon. Anyway I love it, can you tell?

Let me know what you think, have you tried this polish?

New Beauty Buys | Peachy Lipsticks (ft Bourjois, Revlon & L'Oreal)

So I recently made a little trip to Boots, they currently have the 3 for 2 offer on so I could of gone a little crazy in there - in fact I did have a handful of products in my basket but I restrained myself as much as I could and walked away with only three lipsticks. These lipsticks are all in guessed it, peachy family, do I need another peachy lipstick?... No but there is something about a good peach, orange, coral, peachy name it! That draws me in and makes me think I need you! Anyway enough rambling and onto some recent lipstick purchases...
Bourjois Rouge Edition lipstick, new revlon lip butter juicy papaya, L'oreal Rouge Caresse
Drugstore lipsticks
Bourjois, Revlon Lip Butter, L'Oreal
Bourjois Rouge Edition lipstick  'Peche Cosy 03' (£7.99) - This is my first lipstick from this range, I've seen a lot  about them on the bloggersphere so I was interested to see what they were like. 'Peche Cosy' is a nice peach shade, It is nicely pigmented and is lovely to apply, nice and creamy and it has a sheen finish.
Revlon Lip Butter  'Juicy Papaya' (7.99) - I love Revlon lip butters, Juicy papaya is one of their new shades, I first heard about this on Kayleigh's Blog - CoutureGirl - I'm sure you all read her blog but if not it is a absolute must read! They have released 4 new shades as part of the S/S line, Kayleigh did a blog post on two of them including Juicy Papaya. Since reading her post I was on the hunt for it but could never find any of the new shades in Boots, until recently of course. Like all of the Revlon Lip butters they are a balm/lipstick, so moisturising and creamy on the lips with a decent amount of pigment too. Juicy Papaya I feel is more sheer than the other lip butter shades I've tried, I'm not sure if the new shades are meant to be on the sheerer side but nonetheless it is a gorgeous peachy orange that will be especially nice in the summer time to give a wash of colour.
L'Oreal Rouge Caresse 'Dating Coral 301'  (£7.99) - These lipsticks are similar to the Revlon Lip Butters as they are sheerer than a lipstick and have a moisturising feel on the lips. Dating Coral is a pinky peach coral shade, it is more pigmented than the new Revlon lip butters but not as pigmented as the original shades.

Let me know what you think of these lipsticks? Also if you have any other peachy pink lipstick reccomendations I'd love to read them!

L'Oreal False Lash Telescopic Mascara

L'Oreal False Lash Telescopic Mascara
L'Oreal False Lash Telescopic Mascara
L'Oreal False Lash Telescopic Mascara Before and After
I recently purchased this mascara, I didn't need a new one but you know how it is when Boots have the 3 for 2 deal going on! So there I was with my two items and decided I would get a mascara as my third. I love the original L'Oreal Telescopic mascara, in fact it is my favourite! So when I saw this one 'L'Oreal False Lash Telescopic - with Infinite Length Effect Fibers' I really wanted to give it a try! and I'm so glad I did!
On first application I was instantly wowed! More so than I have been with any other mascara I have tried. It really lengthens and separates my lashes just like the original one that I love but I find this one does both of those jobs even better! As for volume it does give volume to my lashes but its more for lengthening I'd say. It made my lashes look super long and I definitely feel it gave them a false lash effect! I am really impressed. It was very easy and quick to work with as well - the after photo above was only one quick coat, usually with mascaras I have to build up but this one seems to do all the work for you. I do feel that it could go a a bit 'spidery' if you applied a few coats, this might be down to the fact it has 'fibers' in it, some people love the spidery lash look so it wouldn't be a problem but if you don't maybe just apply the one coat. The wand is a little different to the original - a little thicker but still a thin wand, so its easy to get close to the root of every lash.
Overall I really recommend giving this mascara a try if your looking for a mascara that really lengthens yours lashes and gives a more dramatic false lash effect. If you prefer a more natural look from your mascara I'd say this isn't for you and the original one would probably be better as this one it much more intense. I love it though and although I haven't had it for long I think it has already become a favourite!

Let me know if you have tried this mascara and what you thought?

March Favourites!

Monthly Favourites
Hi Lovelies! I love reading monthly favourite posts as I find it really interesting to see what everyone has been loving! Today I thought I would share with you my March Favourites, there have been a fair amount of products I've been loving through March, mostly make-up but there are a couple skincare products and a nail care product too, So I'll just go ahead and get started...

Bobbi Brown Corrector
First off Bobbi Brown corrector - I don't know what I did before I had this product! Its amazing and I really recommend this if you have dark circles. It comes in a mixture of pink or peach shades to correct dark under eye areas. I have the shade light bisque, I apply it before my concealer and I notice a big difference in my under eye darkness I use it every single day and its one of those holy grail products for me.

laura mercier silk creme foundation
Another favourite of mine is Laura Mercier Silk Creme Foundation - I have already confessed my love for this product on my blog before! (link to review) but it had to make it into my favourites as I love it! it has great coverage without looking cakey and leaves a perfect finish to the skin, not matte but not overly dewy either, its my favourite foundation!

Rimmel Stay Matte Powder
Rimmel Stay Matte powder - mine is in the colour Transparent. I love this powder as It sets my make-up and keeps it in place all day but never looks cakey or really powdery. I don't get particularly oily but I do notice a bit of shine through the day and this helps to prevent that and its a bargain at £2.99 too.

Benefit Hoola
Benefit Hoola - I love this for contouring! I always used to use Nars laguna which I still love but lately Hoola is pretty much all I've been using its a really nice shade not orangey and is matte so its great for contouring!

Mac Bare Study Paint Pot
Mac Bare Study Paint Pot - I love Mac paint pots in general, this shade is a creamy champagne with gold shimmer, its beautiful! I've been using it under eyeshadow as a base and it really helps to make my eyeshadow more vibrant, stay in place, and it doesn't crease! I think it would look gorgeous applied on its own too.

o.p.i nail envy
Nail Envy by O.P.I - I've had this for a while and never mentioned it before I don't know why as I think it is a great product! My nails were quite weak and so I bought this in the hope it would make my nails stronger and healthier which it definitely has done for me, my nails are stronger and grow better without chipping.

Origins intensive drink up mask
Origins Drink up intensive Mask - I absolutely love this product for giving my skin a hit of hydration that it needs! I have reviewed it on my blog before (link) so you can read that if you want to hear more about it, but I love it and really recommend if you have dry/dehydrated skin.

Ren resurfacing aha concentrate
Ren Resurfacing AHA Concentrate - I purchased this towards the end of the month, it contains glycolic acid, lactic acid, tartaric acid and citric acid which work to resurface and renew the skin (exfoliate) and promote skin-cell turnover. I will do a more in depth review on my blog soon, but I've been loving it and have noticed a difference in my skin the main ones being that my skin has looked a lot brighter, and has felt a lot smoother!
So that's is the products I've been loving through March, let me know if you have tried any of these products and what you think?
