L'oreal L'Extraordinaire Liquid Lipsticks Review

left-'Rose Symphony' right-'Nude Vibrato'
L'oreal L'Extraordinaire Liquid Lipsticks are a fairly recent addition to the L'oreal range. I had seen one or two reviews on these but not a whole lot and to be honest they weren't on the top of my 'want list', but when i was perusing in Boots they caught my eye with their pretty gold packaging! I swatched a few on the back of my hand and decided on two shades 'Rose Symphony' and 'Nude Vibrato' both are more subdued nude shades, Rose Symphony is more of a rosy pink and Nude Vibrato is peach.

L'oreal Liquid Lipsticks claim to have the pigmentation of a lipstick but also the high shine finish of a gloss! there are 9 shades to chose from. Looking at swatches i think some shades are more pigmented, the shades Rose Symphony and Nude Vibrto don't have the pigmentation of a lipstick but they do have enough pigmentation that you can see them on the lips. The finish is high shine and they feel moisturising, they don't feel sticky but they aren't the most comfortable on the lips, I think they feel a little heavy. They have a floral scent to them but it's not very strong which is nice. They don't last very well on the lips but that being a glossy finish that isn't surprising.

YSL Touche Eclat Foundation | Review

I'm kinda' late on the bandwagon with trying this foundation! A lot of people seem to rave about it so recently I finally got round trying it! YSL Touché Eclat foundation is described as a weightless illuminating formula, it evens out completion while enhancing skins natural beauty… sounds good right?

I have normal to dry skin and a dewy finish is my preferred choice when it comes to foundation. YSL Touché Eclat provides a dewy natural finish, it really gives a glow to the skin and has no shimmer to it at all. I have the shade B40. BR (Beige Rose) is for cool/pink undertones, BD (Beige Dore) is for warm golden undertones and B (beige) for neutral/beige undertones. The formula is very thin but not watery, almost like a gel/liquid. It's very blendable and provides light to medium coverage, one pump will give you more of a sheer coverage and two pumps will give you a medium. I like medium to full coverage and with two pumps and a little concealer I am happy with the coverage this foundation gives. I have been using my Real Techniques buffing brush which works great! The lasting power isn't the greatest compared to other foundations, I'd say it lasts around 7 hours on the skin. The packaging is beautiful! With a glass bottle, gold lid and a pump! One thing I don't love about this foundation is the floral scent, although it isn't horrible, it is a bit strong and I prefer foundations that are not as heavily scented.

Pros
Lightweight
Blendable
Light/medium coverage
Dewy finish
Natural looking

Cons
Lasting power
Floral scented

Overall I think this is a really nice foundation. If you have normal, dry or dehydrated skin and like a dewy light/medium coverage i recommend this foundation! I wouldn't recommend it to oily skin though as I don't think it would last very long and it does have a dewy finish, slightly oily skins may be able to get away with it!

Have you tried this foundation?

Mini Lipstick Haul | Mac 'Pure Zen', Urban Decay 'Native'

left  - MAC 'Pure Zen', right: Urban Decay 'Native'

I recently made a little online order on Debenhams when they had 10% off beauty, I have had Mac Pure Zen on my wish list for a while and have also really wanted to try a Urban Decay Lipstick as I have never tried them before and I've heard good things about them.

Mac Pure Zen is a peachy/pink nude with a creemsheen finish so it is creamy on the lips with a slight sheen. It is a gorgeous nude, perfect for everyday or equally beautiful paired with a smokey eye. I think it would suit light to medium skin tones, particularly warm skin tones. If your looking for a nude lipstick I really recommend giving this a swatch when you are at a mac counter as it is gorgeous!

As I said I had never tried Urban Decay Revolution lipsticks before, I decided on the shade 'Native' which is a medium pink with a peachy undertone. I'm not a lover of pink lipsticks as I feel they don't suit my skin tone very well, but as this one has a peach undertone and is a warm toned pink rather than cool I find it suits me much better! If you have a warmer skin tone, this would look great on you! The formulation is great! very creamy, pigmented and opaque. I definitely recommend checking out Urban Decay's lipstick as I am really impressed and this shade 'Native' is beautiful!

Benefit Gimme Brow Review

Benefit Gimme Brow
Benefit Gimme Brow

Before
Benefit Gimme brow Review
After
Benefit Gimme Brow Review
Everybody has been talking about Benefits Gimme Brow, so being a lover of all things brows I had to give it a try myself! Benefit Gimme Brow comes in two shades, 'Light Medium' and 'Medium Deep'. I went for the shade 'Light Medium' which is a ashy medium brown shade. To those of you who aren't familiar with this product, it is a brow 'fibre gel' which adhere's to the skin and hair to create brows where there were none.  It claims to be buildable, water resistant, long wearing and natural looking. The wand is a tiny tapered mascara like wand. You can see tiny fibres if you look closely on the wand but they can't be seen once applied.

When I first tried this product, I used it on it's own and I wasn't wowed by it! I usually fill in my brows with powder/pencil. I have very fine eyebrows and I like a quite full brow, so when I used Benefits Gimme Brow on its own, it didn't give me as full of a brow as I would like. It filled in any gaps as well as adding a little extra thickness and gave a slightly fuller natural looking brow, but not as full as I would like. As I said I do have very fine brows so it just didn't do enough for me especially on the outer part of my brows. If you like a more natural look with just a little extra thickness or if you have fuller brows to begin with I think Gimme Brow would be perfect. I have been using it over my brows once I have filled them in with powder/pencil and I much prefer using it that way.

Overall I think this is a nice product, it does do what it claims to but for me it doesn't do enough in the thickness department. I prefer to use it over other brow products than on it's own. If you like a more natural brow look I would say this is for you

Let me know if you have tried this product? What do you think of it?

Fashion Haul ft ASOS, Miss Selfridge, River Island

I have picked up a few clothing bits lately and thought it would be fun to share with you guys what I got! i made a online order from Asos and Miss Selfridge and then purchased a few bits from River Island in store...

Asos Aran Cable Jumper  - Link
I picked up this jumper from ASOS as I was feeling summery and wanted too add some colour into my wardrobe. When I saw this jumper I thought it would be perfect to keep me warm but it's also summery at the same time because of the colour! It fits really well and I like how the back of the jumper is longer than the front.

Miss Selfridge Purple Fisherman Rib Jumper  - Link (It's now on sale)
Another colourful jumper, this time though its a pastel purple. Pastels are everywhere right now and I love this trend! The quality is really nice! The fit is a little oversized but not too much which I really like!

Asos Colourblock Double Layer t-shirt - Link
I wasn't sure if I was going to like this when I got it but I actually really like it! I love the pale lilac/blue colour and the layering of this top! The fit is loose and it is a lightweight material so perfect for when it gets hot! I also really love the contrast of the sleeves.

River Island Cami Top - Link
Now in preparation for when the sun does decide to come out I got this cami, I love cami tops for the summer. I have quite a few from Topshop last year but I decided to get this one from River Island as I like the gold detailing on the straps as I think it adds something a bit extra.

River Island Oversized t-shirt - Link
A nice slogan t -shirt, it's simple and casual and goes with anything!

River Island Striped Top - (Not Online)
I really like this top, it's a knit fabric but lightweight and a oversized fit on the body but fitted sleeves three quarter length sleeves, again just simple and casual.

River Island Blue Palm Print Relaxed Blazer - Link

I love blazers! When I saw this one I just had too have it as I love the print! It just looks really nice and summery on. It is loose fitted and really lightweight so great for spring/summer.

So that is the few bits I've picked up over the past couple of weeks, i usually stick to more of the beauty side on my blog but let me know if you like these types of blog posts and i will do more!

Tom Ford - Spanish Pink

Tom Ford Spanish PinkTom Ford Spanish Pink
If there was an award for the most luxurious lipstick, I think Tom ford would win it easy! The packaging is so chic, from the black and gold to the TF initials on the tip of lipstick… it's a pretty sight right? 'Spanish Pink' is a gorgeous peachy pink nude, It's a great wearable shade that works with different looks from everyday make-up to more glam make-up. The formula is creamy and opaque, with a sheen finish.

Being a Tom Ford lipstick it isn't cheap at £36... while I do think that's a lot for a lipstick,  if your willing to splurge I think its worth it! the formulation is great as well as the colour pay off and the shade 'Spanish Pink' is a perfect nude if you have a light-medium skintone, I really recommend it!

Let me know if you have this lipstick, or any other shades by Tom ford? I'd love to know what you think?

This is part 3 of my Florida haul, today i'm going to be sharing with you everything I got from Mac, so heres what I got...
mac haul

Mac Peaches & Peachykeen blush
mac blush

Peaches, Peachykeen

Peaches is a true light peach blush, it is a sheer tone blush so it isn't crazily pigmented which makes it easy to apply as it is very hard to over do it with this blush. It's a matte finish with a soft texture so easy to blend. Peachykeen is a peachy blush again but with shimmer and more of a pinky undertone, it is also a sheer tone blush so easy to apply without getting too much product on your brush.

Mac face and body foundation - shade C3mac face and body

I've tried this foundation twice but I'm not completely sure on whether I like it or not yet, it has a sheer but build able coverage and a very liquid-y formula.  I just wasn't in love when I tried it, I prefer more coverage but I need to try it out more to decide if i like this foundation or not.

A bold orange red, it is gorgeous! It is a matte finish which I do find drying so a lip balm underneath is a must!

Mac Light boost highlighter

I love this! It comes in a few different shades but I choose light boost which is a yellow based shade, I love this for highlighting my face and under my eyes, it has a light to medium coverage and the finish is natural and it blends in amazingly!

MAC 188 brushmac 188 brush
I haven't used this brush yet but it is super soft! I plan on using this to blend in my concealer/highlight under my eyes and my face, you can also use it to apply your foundation.

Mac 217 brushmac 217 brush
I already have one of these so I purchased another as it is amazing for blending eyeshadow. Amazing brush! if you don't already own this brush you need it!

This is a pale white golden shade with gold shimmer, this is great for highlighting the inner corner of your eye or even as a face highlight!

Rule - a matte orange shade, applied lightly this looks gorgeous.

Expensive pink - this is a pinky copper shade with shimmer.

Bronze - is a bronze shade with shimmer.

Nylon - is a creamy pale golden white shade with shimmer.

Soft Brown - is a light brown shade, its a great transition shade so applied to the upper crease it helps to blend out a crease shade.

Amber Lights - bronze gold shade.

So thats everything i picked up from MAC, let me know what you think of any of these products?
